road-bridgeThe Road Project Department has designed the Narol Circle–Naroda Patiya stretch as a 60-metre-wide road to ensure smoother and safer traffic movement. The plan provides 10.5-metre-wide main carriageways on both sides and 10.5-metre-wide service roads to separate local traffic from through traffic. A one-metre-wide median will divide the main carriageway and the service roads to enhance lane discipline.
For pedestrian safety the design includes two-metre-wide footpaths on both sides together with seating facilities and a multi-utility zone to accommodate services and street furniture. The project will also involve plantation and landscaping along the corridor and the installation of comprehensive traffic signage to regulate flow. These measures are intended to create a more walkable and organised urban corridor.
The Standing Committee chairman Devang Dani noted that the civic body has been pursuing major road development and beautification projects across the city and that this project follows recent work on the Airport Circle–Dafnala stretch. Once completed the Narol–Naroda Patiya corridor is expected to emerge as a key connectivity route and to help ease traffic congestion in several parts of east Ahmedabad. The civic authority plans to proceed with detailed engineering and implementation steps to strengthen connectivity and urban mobility. Work is likely to be staged to minimise disruption to traffic and local residents during construction.
