Wellington’s primary venue will enter a new chapter from March, with the Wellington Regional Stadium to be renamed Hnry Stadium under a new long-term naming rights agreement.
The Wellington Regional Stadium Trust has confirmed sole trader accountancy service Hnry as the venue’s new naming rights partner, replacing Sky Network Television. The five-year partnership will see the stadium officially known as Hnry Stadium from 1 March, 2026.
The agreement marks just the third naming rights sponsor in the stadium’s 26-year history. The venue was previously known as Sky Stadium from 2020, following an earlier naming period as Westpac Stadium.
Opened in 2000, Wellington Regional Stadium has played a central role in the city’s sporting and events landscape, hosting international rugby, domestic and international football, major concerts and large-scale community events. Over the past 25 years, more than 12 million patrons have passed through the stadium’s gates, underlining its importance as a key piece of Wellington’s civic infrastructure.
The Trust said the partnership with Hnry aligns strongly with the stadium’s broader purpose of delivering shared experiences that connect the community. As a Wellington-founded business, Hnry’s association with the venue reflects a shared commitment to the city and its long-term growth.
Hnry was founded in Wellington in 2017 and has since grown into one of New Zealand’s largest accountancy services for sole traders. The company has expanded internationally, launching in Australia in 2020 and the United Kingdom in 2025, while continuing to maintain strong operational ties to the capital.
The naming rights agreement comes as the Wellington Regional Stadium Trust continues to evolve its long-term strategy for the venue, focused on maintaining high-quality infrastructure, attracting major events and maximising utilisation across sport, entertainment and community use.
The Trust recently marked 25 years of operating and maintaining the stadium, with the Hnry partnership set to headline the next phase in the venue’s history.
