Noida International Airport (DXN) has received its operating licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, allowing the airport to begin preparations for the start of commercial flight operations.
The certification confirms that all required operational standards have been met, including procedures for safety management, airport infrastructure, navigation systems and emergency response capabilities. In parallel, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security completed its security review covering domestic passenger flights as well as domestic and international cargo operations.
These approvals represent major regulatory milestones ahead of the airport’s commissioning. Preparations are now underway with central and state authorities for the official inauguration, while coordination continues with airport partners to finalise operational readiness. Airlines are expected to begin commercial services within approximately 45 days.

The airport has already completed several technical milestones during its development. In December 2024, validation flights were conducted to test navigation systems, including the first landing of an Airbus A320. Additional calibration flights followed in October 2025 to confirm operational performance.
All core infrastructure required for airport operations has now been completed. Agreements with key service providers have also been finalised, including contracts for ground handling, cargo operations, aircraft refuelling, inflight catering, taxi services, hotel operations and terminal retail and food concessions. Navigation systems have been commissioned by the Airports Authority of India.
Initial airline operations will focus on domestic and cargo services, with international flights expected to be introduced during 2026. Confirmed carriers include IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express, while additional airlines have expressed interest in launching routes.
In its first development phase, the airport will have capacity to handle up to 12 million passengers annually and will operate with one runway, one passenger terminal and 25 aircraft parking stands.
