Chinese battery manufacturer Farasis Energy has unveiled a further development of its technology that enables 6C fast charging. According to the company, the battery system has been optimized using a proprietary simulation model (ROM) for a charging time of approximately ten minutes. The technology is offered for both lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and lithium-based ternary batteries, with the latter supporting 5C fast charging.
According to Farasis, the structural adaptation of the battery, in particular the so-called super pouch solution design, is intended to significantly increase the heat dissipating surface area. This improves the thermal stability of the batteries and increases charging efficiency. The company points out that the temperature of the batteries can be kept below 50°C during the fast-charging process.
Farasis attributes the advancement in charging speed to the companyʼs proprietary simulation model used to optimize battery design parameters. The model enables faster analysis of the optimal cell architecture and is designed to make the development process more efficient. According to the company, the ROM requires only ten seconds to perform a fast-charging simulation, compared to several hours for conventional simulation software.
