$645 M Transmission Projects Draw Eight Bidders

India: PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL), acting as bid process coordinator, has shortlisted bidders for opening initial price bids for three interstate transmission system (ISTS) projects under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework.

The projects include the transmission system for Kurnool-IV REZ – Phase II (3 GW) under Kurnool IV REZ Power Transmission Ltd, estimated at $343 M (Rs.3,235 crore). The second is the Tumkur-II transmission strengthening project (2.7 GW) under Tumkur II RE Transmission Ltd, with an estimated cost of $111 M (Rs.1,051 crore). The third scheme is the North Eastern Region Generation Scheme-III (NERGS-III) Siang Basin, under NERGS III Siang Basin Transmission Ltd, costing $191 M (Rs.1,804 crore).

A total of eight bidders are in contention. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd and Resonia Ltd are competing for all three projects. G R Infraprojects Ltd is bidding for Tumkur-II and NERGS-III, while Dineshchandra R. Agarwal Infracon Pvt Ltd has qualified for NERGS-III. Dilip Buildcon Ltd is in the race for Tumkur-II, and H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd for Kurnool-IV.

Terralight Solar Energy Tinwari Pvt Ltd is competing for Kurnool-IV and NERGS-III. It is a subsidiary of EnerGrid, a platform backed by IndiGrid, British International Investment and Norfund.

Except Dilip Buildcon, all bidders have prior ISTS-TBCB experience.
