Alight has acquired two large-scale solar projects in eastern Finland from Finnish developer 3Flash, adding more than 200 MW of planned solar capacity along with an associated battery energy storage system (BESS). The two projects, with planned capacities of approximately 75 MW and 150 MW, are situated in a region characterised by comparatively lower local power generation and reduced grid congestion relative to other parts of the country. Alight and 3Flash will jointly advance the projects until they achieve ready-to-build status.

The 75 MW project is targeting grid connection around 2028 and has access to an existing nearby connection point to the Finnish transmission system operator, Fingrid. Additionally, the site has secured a building permit for a 30 MW BESS. The 150 MW project is expected to connect to the grid through a planned expansion of a Fingrid substation, which is anticipated around 2030. Following this transaction, Alight’s large-scale solar and storage development pipeline in Finland has exceeded 1 GW.

In February 2026, Alight secured £34 million in portfolio financing from SEB to develop and operate behind-the-meter solar installations for commercial and industrial customers in UK. The financing facility supports a portfolio exceeding 50 MWp, with projects scheduled for commissioning by 2027.
