The Rajasthan government has proposed an outlay of about Rs 29 billion in budget 2026-27 to develop solar parks aggregating 4,830 MW in Bikaner and Jaisalmer and strengthen the state’s power infrastructure.
The budget provides for establishment of 19 new grid substations at 220 kV and 132 kV levels and construction of 110 new 33 kV substations. Provisions have also been made to set up a security operations centre and a network operations centre at the state load dispatch centre and to upgrade grid operations with artificial intelligence-enabled systems. The budget has proposed extending Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024 benefits to integrated solar cell and module manufacturing units and setting up an energy transition skilling cluster.
