IOC-GPS Renewables, a joint venture (JV) between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and GPS Renewables, has floated a tender to procure long-term open access solar power. The power will be sourced under the group captive model for its compressed biogas plants. Furthermore, the sites are spread across Haryana (4), Uttar Pradesh (3), Chhattisgarh (1), and Andhra Pradesh (1).

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit in the form of a bank guarantee for Rs 1.3 million per site. The successful bidders are required to submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 3.24 million per site. Additionally, the successful bidders will ink a power purchase agreement valid for 25 years from the date of commissioning of the project. The deadline for bid submission is February 24, 2026.

Earlier in December 2025, IOCL inked a memorandum of agreement with IIT-ISM Dhanbad for the development of a solar hydrogen–based clean cooking and micro-power generation system for rural households.
