New Kuraray Middle East Office in Dubai Marks Long-Term Commitment to Regional Innovation

Dubai was chosen not just because it is the region’s logistics and business hub, but also because of the UAE’s impressive growth outlook, which is complemented by rapidly growing construction demand and record real estate activity. Population growth in the Middle East region is also driving demand for housing, offices, schools, hotels, stadiums, healthcare and retail developments.

“Dubai has always been a benchmark for innovation and is seeing rapid growth in the deployment of high-value-adding components in glazing systems and façade structures,” says Kamal Niazy, general manager of Kuraray Products Middle East Trading LLC. “Our new office will allow us to more closely collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, developers and specification teams to ensure that glazing becomes a key driver, not just for its structural and aesthetic capabilities, but also for sustainability progress and world-class architectural identity in the region.”

The elevated levels of new construction in the region are being matched by the refurbishment of existing structures, both of which have led to an increase in demand for Kuraray’s Trosifol PVB and SentryGlas ionoplast interlayers. SentryGlas allows architects and engineers to deploy panels that are not only thinner and lighter than monolithic glass but also offer greater all-around performance.

Glass and glass product manufacturing prices rose in December (0.2%) for the second consecutive month, concluding a year in which glass product prices and the manufacturing of glass-related products were up 3.2% compared to the end of 2024. Parents File Lawsuit Against Window Installer After Child’s Fatal Fall

The parents of a child who fell from a ninth-story window to his death in a Kansas City apartment complex have filed a lawsuit against the glass company that installed the window. According to the , the parents, Destiny Randle and Moses Bass, accuse Crown Diversified Industries Corp. (Crown Window Corp.) of installing a window that “lacked basic fall-protection safety features that would have prevented a child from falling from such a height. These safety measures were well known in the window industry and simple to implement.” Crown Window is a Missouri-based supplier and installer of windows for hospitality, multi-family housing, senior living and student housing projects. Randle and Bass’ son, 3-year-old Tidus, fell nine stories from his bedroom window at the Independence Towers on July 29, 2024. Construction Company Owner Faces Multiple Grand Larceny Charges

The New York State Police that a construction company owner has been charged with defrauding multiple customers following a 15-month investigation. The department charged Andrew W. Cassata after what officials say was an “extensive investigation regarding multiple larceny cases involving Cassata and his company, MC Construction and Development.” According to the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the department opened an investigation into Cassata’s business dealings in October of 2024. Investigators talked to multiple victims and executed search warrants on Cassata’s companies and residence. Cassata was found to have defrauded multiple customers, alleging to have overcharged clients and not completed the jobs for which he was hired. While executing a search warrant at Cassata’s residence, two non-compliant AR-15 style rifles were located, one of which was loaded.
