Rail Business Daily has announced the return of its highly anticipated annual Railway Innovation publication, set to be released in October 2026 as a special edition of the widely respected Rail Director magazine.

The publication will celebrate the latest innovations, technical breakthroughs, and forward-thinking solutions shaping the future of the rail sector, bringing together leading voices from across the industry to explore how innovation is driving positive change.

You can read last year’s publication here.

Dean Bruce, Managing Director at Rail Business Daily, said: “I’m very pleased to announce the return of the Rail Director Innovation Special Edition. This annual publication exemplifies the vibrancy and innovation taking place across the sector and shines a light on some of the exciting developments that lie ahead.

“The publication proved extremely popular last year, both for organisations looking to showcase their products and for the wider rail community wanting to discover more about the future of rail transport. AI is a major talking point and will no doubt have a growing impact upon the sector; however, this publication is designed to look across the whole industry exploring how innovation is producing positive change.”

The 2025 edition featured contributions from several prominent industry figures, including GBRX Managing Director Toufic Machnouk, who outlined his four principles for successful innovation, and Liam Henderson, Chair of The Rail Innovation Group.

Liam wrote: “The railway faces tighter budgets, ageing assets, carbon commitments and rising customer expectations. There is no single project that will answer all of that.”

The 2026 edition will continue this focus by featuring insight from innovation experts, rail leaders, and technology providers, alongside news of the latest products, projects, and technical developments from across the industry.

The publication will receive extensive promotion across Rail Business Daily’s media channels.
