road-bridgeThe scheme is designed to relieve congestion on existing highways by providing a dedicated feeder route to the Ganga Expressway and to improve the predictability of daily journeys for commuters in the National Capital Region. Wider lanes and upgraded road geometry are set to make peak hour movement less strenuous and to reduce delays on parallel arterial roads. Local authorities envisage improved traffic flow across Greater Noida, Hapur and surrounding towns once construction is completed.
Planners also foresee economic benefits from faster freight movement between industrial hubs, with logistics chains expected to operate with greater efficiency and lower transport costs. Commercial vehicles are likely to save time on key corridors, a factor that may enhance trade links across western Uttar Pradesh and beyond. The GNIDA approval signals the start of preparatory works, land acquisition and design finalisation ahead of procurement and construction phases.
The Ganga Expressway itself is a 594-km long, six-lane access controlled greenfield expressway connecting Meerut and Prayagraj and is cited as one of the state's flagship infrastructure projects. It was built at an estimated cost of Rs 362.3 billion (bn) and is intended to offer high-speed, largely uninterrupted travel across the state. Officials expect the new eight-lane link to act as a crucial feeder, easing pressure on existing road networks and supporting regional development.
