GreenLine Mobility Solutions, an Essar Group venture, has announced a $275 million equity investment to accelerate the decarbonisation of heavy-duty trucking in India.
The investment includes a $20 million contribution from investor and entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath. GreenLine, which operates India’s first fleet of LNG and electric-powered heavy commercial vehicles, aims to reduce emissions from the country’s transportation sector—currently responsible for nearly 15% of India’s total carbon footprint.
The funding will support the expansion of GreenLine’s LNG trucking infrastructure and further its mission to promote sustainable freight movement across the country.
