Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (HOEC) has announced the recent award of contract area MB/OSDSF/B15/2024 under the Special Discovered Small Fields Bid Round 2024, granted on April 15, 2025.
The new block, spanning 332.4 square kilometers in the Mumbai Offshore region at a water depth of approximately 40 meters, encompasses two significant discoveries—B-15A-1 and B-15-2. The area holds further exploration potential, with a total of six wells already drilled. Well B-15A-1 has tested around 1.66 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 1,833 barrels of oil per day (bopd), while Well B-15-2 has tested approximately 1,151 barrels of oil and 0.91 mmscfd of gas from the Panna formation. HOEC operates this block with 100% participating interest.
This new addition of Block MB/OSDSF/B15/2024 enhances HOEC’s existing operations, complementing its Block MB/OSDSF/B80/2016 in the Mumbai Offshore region, expanding the company’s total acreage to over 800 square kilometers. The growth in reserves and resources solidifies HOEC’s standing as a prominent independent oil company in the industry.
Mr. Ramasamy Jeevanandam, Managing Director of HOEC, expressed the company's commitment to strengthening its asset base and capitalizing on growth opportunities. He highlighted that, through further development of existing discoveries and potential new well drilling, HOEC aims to maximize the value of this block, ensuring sustained growth and creating significant value for stakeholders.
