Noida District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction of an emergency access road near Noida International Airport, a critical infrastructure element expected to be ready ahead of the airport’s scheduled opening later this year.
The 8-kilometre-long, 30-metre-wide road is being built by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is designed to provide swift access for emergency services, including ambulances, police, fire services, and cargo vehicles. It will start near the airport's cargo terminal and connect to Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), ultimately linking to the Yamuna Expressway.
“This road will serve as a vital emergency corridor to and from the airport,” Verma told TOI, underlining the importance of timely completion. “The airport is a dream project of both the Government of India and the Uttar Pradesh Government. Any delay will not be tolerated, and all departments have been instructed to expedite construction.”
During the site visit, SDM Jewar Abhay Kumar Singh updated the DM on the current status, stating that levelling work is in progress and the project is on track to be completed within six months.
