railwayTom Kinnear will lead Amey’s transport advisory services across highways, rail, aviation and ports after being appointed Delivery Director for Transport.
With more than 20 years’ experience in transport consulting, Tom has been described as combining deep sector knowledge with a strong track record in delivery, helping infrastructure owners translate strategy, data and technology into measurable improvements in asset performance, environmental outcomes, and value for money.
His career includes senior roles at Deloitte and Network Rail, working with major UK transport authorities and operators on complex, nationally significant programmes.
He is one of four senior leaders to Amey’s restructured Advisory business which aim to help accelerate the organisation’s expansion into new markets as it supports clients address climate resilience and increasingly complex infrastructure challenges.
The other appointments include James Bullied, Sector Director for Advisory who will be responsible for leading the business sector; Chris Gray, Delivery Director for Water, Environment and Energy, who will lead Advisory’s services across these sectors; and Gareth Podesta, Delivery Director for Defence and Public Estates, who will lead Advisory services for defence and central government, overseeing market strategy, client relationships and portfolio growth.

The Advisory business is aligned around priority markets including transport, defence, health, nuclear and energy, with strengthened capabilities spanning asset management, AI adoption and readiness, data, energy management, estates, biodiversity and net positive solutions. The new team will also support Amey’s ambition to grow in new territories, including the USA, Australia, the Republic of Ireland and the Caribbean.
Reflecting the strength of its pipeline and growth ambitions, Amey is continuing to expand its Advisory team, with several roles currently open across its priority markets and specialist capabilities.
