Project developer CPK has issued a tender for the detailed design and construction of another section of the high-speed rail (HSR) line between Warsaw and Lodz. The contract covers a 14.3 km section of the new line 85 between the airport junction and the Bolimowski junction, excluding the junctions themselves. This section, designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h, is part of the Y-shaped new line from Warsaw via Lodz to Poznan and Wroclaw. Bids can be submitted until 12th June 2026. The scope of work includes 55 engineering structures such as bridges, viaducts, culverts for drainage and wildlife crossings. The tendering process will take place in two stages. First, CPK will request applications to participate and subsequently, up to five companies will be selected for a competitive dialogue. For the first 12.9 km section from Kotowice to the airport, six bids were received from 17 suppliers. Porr was awarded the tunnel contract in the Lodz area back in 2024.
