railwayAccording to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, works on the Bursa – Osmaneli section of the Bandirma – Bursa – Yenisehir – Osmaneli high-speed rail (HSR) line has reached its final phase. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2026. The 106 km section will link Bursa directly to the Ankara – Istanbul HSR line via the Osmaneli junction. The journey time from Bursa to Ankara and Istanbul will then be just over two hours. On the Bursa – Osmaneli section, which includes the stations at Osmaneli, Yenisehir, Yenisehir Airport, Gürsu and Bursa, earthworks as well as the construction of tunnels and engineering structures have already been completed. Work on the track bed is currently underway. The overall Bandirma – Osmaneli project is designed for 250 km/h, is 201 km in length and has a capacity of 30 million passengers and 59 million t of freight per year. The western extension via Teknosab, Karacabey, Dagkadi and Kücüksu is scheduled for completion in 2028. Nationwide, the HSR and rapid rail network currently covers around 2,251 km. In parallel, Türasas is building a factory in Sakarya with a testing facility for high-speed trains (HST) developed in the country.
